Part 15 - The True Bread of Life
Read this passage:"Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life. I am the bread of life. Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and are dead. (Because they followed the teachings of Moses.) This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world. This is the bread which came down from heaven; not as your fathers ate the manna and are dead. He who eats this bread will live forever."John 6:47-51 and 58
When the Messiah speaks of bread, He refers to teachings; when you feed on the teachings of the Messiah, you attain eternal life, but only those of the Messiah. Not those of Moses, not those of David, etc. You cannot serve two masters!
Explanation of Verse 58: What He meant in this verse was that the people who fed on the teachings of Moses in the wilderness died; in other words, that people will not have eternal life because they followed the laws of Moses.
Note: The Messiah refers to the first death as sleep.Matthew 9:24
